How old does my child need to be to join Twisty Tails?
We cater for children from as young as three months all the way to five years old.

How much will it cost to send my child to Twisty Tails Nursery?

Can I stay with my child? 
Parents are welcome to stay with their child during the initial pre visits until they are confident their child is settled. Once both the nursery and parents/carers are confident the child has settled he/she will be left for the duration of the session.  

Am I authorised to visit when I want to?
We promote an open door policy to parental involvement within the nursery. All parents are welcome to visit the nursery at any time.

What languages can the staff communicate in if English is not our first language? 
We currently employ staff members that speak; Arabic, Pashto, Urdu, Hindi, Farsi, Swahili, Spanish, Algerian and Portuguese as well as English.

If I want someone else to pick my child up what should I do? 
We have a password system in place for when someone other than those named on register are collecting children. Please call the nursery and notify management of who will be picking up your child. Additionally provide the nursery with a password, which on arrival, the person will also have to give along with proof of identification. 

Who should I contact if my child is sick? 
If your child is sick please contact the nursery mainline on 020 8617 0422 and inform a member of staff.

What is the protocol if my child gets sick whilst at nursery?
If a child is considered too poorly to be at nursery, we will contact parents/carers and request for them to collect their child as soon as possible. Until the parent/carer arrives the child will be monitored regularly and made to feel comfortable.

Is there a uniform that my child has to wear? 
We are soon introducing uniform in Colindale. All children must wear their uniform in the Pinner Nursery in order to attend.


How will the nursery help my child settle in? 
Your child will be allocated a key worker on registering; the key worker will be responsible for providing comfort on initial settling visits allowing your child to bond with a key member of staff. We will take as long as is necessary to settle your child into nursery, we appreciate each child is unique and all children’s needs are different. There is no additional charge for settling visits.  

Upon application how soon will I know if my child has been offered a place?
You will be notified on the day if a space is available. You can secure the place by completing a registration form and depositing the registration and deposit fee. 

What safety measures have been implemented to ensure my child is always protected?
CCTV, Fire Safety enforcements, Password System and the arrival and departure times of children, staff and visitors are recorded daily. Our security systems prevent unauthorised access on to our premises. Daily, weekly and yearly risk assessments are carried out to ensure every area within the location is safe, sound and secure.  

What qualifications do the staff members hold? 
All our staff members are DBS (formerly CRB) checked and all have child protection training. Staff qualifications range from Degree qualified, BTEC Level 3, NVQ Level 3 and Level 2. Everyone is also first aid (Millie's Mark Standard) and fire safety trained.
